Pembrokeshire Greenways

The Greenways Project was launched in May 1994 promoted by the Countryside Council for Wales as a demonstration project and managed by PLANED to provide integrated public transport opportunities to enable visitors and local people to travel to and enjoy the South Pembrokeshire countryside without using a car.
The Greenways project has been very successful in establishing a network of high quality routes and trails linked to public transport in South Pembrokeshire.
The project has also been given a rural tourism focus and links to PLANED's tourism strategy.

In 2000 the Greenways Partnership was established. Greenways is a free-standing partnership organisation that is by a consortium of Pembrokeshire organisations: PLANED, Pembrokeshire County Council, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, the Countyside Council for Wales, The National Trust, Environment Wales and the Pembrokeshire Access Group.
A wider 'Greenways Forum' involves local businesses and interest groups.

The aim of Greenways is to promote access-for-all to the Pembrokeshire countryside by environmentally sustainable means.
